We had to sneak in though, because we couldn't afford the entrance fee and the organizers didn't consider us "the media" and wouldn't give us press passes.

We we kind of flying under the radar, but there were actually a number of Concordia journalism students at WordCamp covering the more accessible presentations. Our work won't be published; it will just be handed in to our professors. But just be assured that the upcoming generation of journalists is interested in this type of thing.
